Extension and complete refurbishment of a traditional flint built house in Norfolk
The 250 year old detached, two storey house was in a poor state of repair when we took on the project to extend and completely restore the property. A single storey wrap around extension was added to provide a guest room cum additional living room with ensuite shower room and toilet. The ground and first floors of the house were completely stripped out, as the following image shows, and then sympathetically restored to provide a new bathroom and bedrooms on the first floor and kitchen and sitting room on the ground floor. The existing oak beams were renovated to retain the style and ambience of the house.
The sitting room on the ground floor during the early stages of renovation showing the existing flintstone walls. The opening through the existing wall that will provide access into the new extension is in the process of being formed in this image
This is a view of the sitting room on the ground floor of the completed project. The photograph was taken from a similar viewpoint to the image above and shows the new door opening from the sitting room into the new wrap around extension.
We managed the total redevelopment of this property including preparation of the design and the project management of the building work. The project was successfully completed in 2004.
