About Us

PS Architecture Limited was founded in 2004. The principal director of the practice is Peter Sherwen who is a chartered architect and a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects since 1979.

Before starting the practice of PS Architecture Limited, Peter spent the formative and early part of his career in medium to large scale architects offices, taking responsibility for the running of medium to high value commercial and residential projects. Peter's strength has always been seen to be his all round ability to not only produce creative designs but also to bring an understanding of practical issues into the design process. His extensive experience of project management is also a valuable asset. The majority of the commissions we receive in any one year are for small to medium scale residential projects for domestic clients and we are always proud to be involved with clients on this type of work.

We also receive commissions for designs for larger scale residential development and for work on commercial projects and we are equally proud to be involved with clients on such projects.

Our aim is to provide our clients with a professional and personal service on all commissions, whatever their value, large or small.

Therefore we are particularly happy to provide clients with advice on matters relating to extensions and alterations to properties within conservation areas and also locally and nationally Listed buildings.

Town planning law is made and periodically amended by central government and therefore the rules that govern the principles of town planning apply nationally. However, each local area across the country has its own particular characteristics and therefore local planning rules and planning strategy vary from area to area. Each local planning authority will have its own guidelines which will provide an indication about what is or what is not acceptable development in their area.
